VIVA FEST LATIN CONFERENCE
Brand Identity / Design System
The creation and design of a groundbreaking Latin Conference called “!VIVA FEST!” were spearheaded to educate and empower individuals on key topics including Latin Feminism, Latin Activism, Latin Creatives, and Latin Actors. The conference served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration, bringing together prominent speakers, activists, artists, and actors from the Latin community. Through meticulously curated panels and presentations, attendees were enlightened on pressing issues, celebrated the achievements of Latin creatives, and explored the intersectionality of Latin feminism and activism.
The design system for the conference was inspired by a poster style called “carteles chicha” (carteles = poster, chicha = genre of music). This style became popular due to its flashy neon colors and hand-painted look during the 80s throughout Latin America. The posters were mainly created to advertise chicha concerts and were pasted onto walls to inform passersby of nearby events. Inspiration was drawn from carteles chicha when creating the main poster and identity system for the Latin Conference, using its bright neon colors, paper texture, and overall hand-done feel to encourage the Latin audience to attend the conference.
